It's been a While

It's been some time since we last posted; almost two weeks. Life here has been fairly uneventful in the last couple of weeks. We are in the process of moving some things around the house in getting ready for the baby to be here (only six more months). We decided that we needed a dresser for the baby's room, and since the one that I was using was in a set with the crib that we have I had to get rid of my dresser. So we decided to just get new bedroom furniture while we had the money (people say that kids take it all). Now we just need to move the bed from the baby's room to the spare bedroom/office/sewing room (coincidentally, the smallest room in the house).

Youth group continues to go well. Just this last week we had one of our best turnouts. Our Wednesday nights are designed to be fun with a little bit of good teaching, but it's to wet their appetite for more, and head on to Sunday morning small groups. It's been exciting lately.

Just this last Wed. our game guy (who is super creative) came up with a different version of capture the flag. We are in a series talking about the armor of God, so he used a boxing head gear as the "Helmet of Salvation," a shoe as the "Shoes of Readiness," and a plastic sword as the "Sword of the Spirit." Once the kids found these items, it gave them immunity from the bullets that were being thrown while others tried to capture the flag. Did I mention that the bullets were about 100 or so jumbo marshmallows?

The game was a great idea, but it ended up just turning into a giant game of throw 100 marshmallows. It did supply us with a good amount of laughs.

Well, that's about it. Today is my day off, so I'm going to try and get some things fixed that need fixin'.
