Merry Christmas! I love this time of year! A time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ…a time to visit family and friends…and a time to reflect on the past year and what God has done in your lives! He has blessed us abundantly over and over. He is so gracious and faithful!
Our biggest highlight of this year was, of course, the blessing of our son, Caleb Douglas. Caleb was born July 16, 2007 at 1:50 p.m., weighing in at 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 20 ½ inches long. He has been such a blessing and brings us so much joy!
We kicked off the year with one highlight. Jonathon spent two weeks in Russia on a two week mission trip. He made some great friends, ate some interesting foods, saw the sights and was ready to come home!
We experienced a big snow storm here in February, something like 12 inches with drifts. It was fun to be “snowed-in” for a couple of days. We had a friend of ours ride to our house on his snowmobile, so Jonathon got to take a swing on that! Toward the end of February, we took 8 junior highers to a conference in Cincinnati, OH called Believe. On the way back, we ran into sleet and ice, so we had to stop and stay another night. Just happened that the hotel we first pulled into had an indoor pool, so we had some extra fun!
We spent a few days in Atlanta, GA, one of Jonathon's favorite cities, in May. We were able to enjoy lots of time together as well as several other fun things. We attended an Atlanta Braves game (our first time at Turner field – a big deal for Jonathon). We also went to the Georgia Aquarium, ate lunch at Hard Rock Cafe downtown, toured the CNN tower and visited the Atlanta underground all around attending a conference, the real reason we went. And all we came back with.....was our very first clothing purchase for our baby…a little Braves onesie (which he’s already outgrown).
In June, Jonathon had a friend come help him tear out the ugly green tile around our fireplace and replace it with new. It took them just a couple of days, and looks great! We also were able to get new carpet in most of the house.
In addition to Caleb, the Farr family also added two more babies…Taylor Eillen Farr, born July 30 and Jaxson Daniel Temm born September 21! We are very excited to get them together with their older cousin Tucker James, who turned 1 in November. Christmas will be fun with all of them!
We have enjoyed lots of visits from our family throughout the year. We would love to have visitors anytime, so if you’re ever near Chicago or Indianapolis, give us a call. Both Jonathon and I have facebook accounts and we still keep our blog updated at www.mitchellsinindy.blogspot.com.
Merry Christmas,

Hey Mitchell's, It's Eric McDowell. I just read your blog for December, looks like you guys are having lots of fun. Hope you guys had a great Christmas. Hollie and I are planning a trip to a CIY in Michigan this summer and were thinking about possibly making a stop in Indianapolis for the day to have some fun with the youth group. I know, Indianapolis is not on the way to Michigan from St. Joe, that is what makes it fun... I guess:) Anyway, we just wanted to pick your brains on some local attractions and if all works out see if you guys might be able to hang out with us a little bit. Anyway, if you want to email me back my email is eric.mcdowell@sjsd.k12.mo.us or for Hollie it is hollie.mcdowell@sjsd.k12.mo.us, let us know what you think. The videos on youtube were pretty cool.
